A Spring Street menu built on 20 Lowcountry suppliers

Estadio, the Spanish tapas restaurant on Spring Street in Cannonborough-Elliottborough, has rebuilt its menu under chef Jeremy Gozlan, who now sources from roughly 20 local farms and purveyors including Barrier Island Oyster Co., Tarvin Seafood in Mount Pleasant, Lowcountry Creamery, Grit Bakery and Brandon's Bread. Estadio, the Spanish tapas spot on Spring Street, has quietly become one of the better arguments for buying close to home. Under chef Jeremy Gozlan, the menu now draws on roughly 20 farms and purveyors, including Barrier Island Oyster Co., Tarvin Seafood in Mount Pleasant, Lowcountry Creamery, Grit Bakery and Brandon's Bread. Plates mostly land between $10 and $25, so this is not a special occasion experiment. It is how the kitchen runs. The takeaway for any Lowcountry business: your supplier list is a marketing asset. When Estadio names the oyster company and the bakery on the menu, all three businesses get credit, and customers get a reason to care. Whether you sell food, furniture or haircuts, the people you buy from are part of your story. Tell it.

Why this matters here

One kitchen deciding to buy close to home puts money into about 20 other small operations, from oyster boats to bakeries. It is also a reminder that naming your suppliers is free marketing for both of you.
