ChatGPT is getting picture ads, and a bot-click problem worth knowing about

OpenAI is adding visual ad formats to ChatGPT, displayed alongside image generation sessions, with a U.S. test starting later this month with a group of advertisers. OpenAI says ChatGPT reaches 1.2 billion weekly users. In the same MarTech report, a TrafficGuard analysis of 47 advertisers over three weeks found invalid click rates between 0.1 percent and 34 percent, with ChatGPT ad clicks 3.6 times more likely than Google Ads clicks to come from datacenters or proxy networks.
