CurrentBurger opened August 17 at 176 Concord St., on the ground floor of The Cooper hotel next to Waterfront Park. Smash burgers, hand-spun milkshakes, and a takeout window facing the park. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Riva Mare opened August 21 at 2154 Noisette Blvd., on the top floor of Storehouse 9 in the Navy Yard. Coastal Italian from Indigo Road Hospitality Group, with executive chef Sean McMullen. A 165-seat rooftop with cabanas and a raw bar. Parking is free.
Rocko's opened August 24 at 1049 E. Montague Ave. in Park Circle, in the former DIG in the Park space. Todd Justice bought the building in May and added a new bar, more televisions and four new bathrooms. Official grand opening is mid-September.
Two Blokes Brewing opened its downtown taproom August 11 at 114 Cannon Street, on the ground floor of a 19th century home. Fifty seats, a covered patio and a small-batch system for specialty releases. Rhett and Haley Anderson bought the original Mount Pleasant brewery in 2023.
Angel Biscuit Co. and Emily now share 835 Savannah Highway in Avondale, the old Ruby Sunshine space. Angel Biscuit serves breakfast from 7 a.m., Emily does pizza and burgers at night, and weekend brunch runs both menus. Owner Howard Greenstone brought in mixologist Megan Deschaine for the bar.
Also open since mid-August: KYN at 61 Cannon Street, an omakase spot that started as a pop-up. Eggs Up Grill at 608A Long Point Road in Belle Hall. Next Round Social at 4391 Dorchester Road. Dulce's Churros, Cocktails and Ice Cream at One Nexton Shopping Center in Summerville.
