The new roundabout where Main Road, River Road and Chisolm Road meet on Johns Island opens to traffic at 6 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 19. River Road closed Friday at 7 p.m. for final stormwater pipe work and paving and reopens Monday morning. It is part of the U.S. 17 and Main Road Improvements Project, 2.4 miles of Main Road from Bees Ferry Road, funded by the 2016 Transportation Sales Tax.
